Rear Air Bag Replacement--2000 Alpine

Reference the pictures below, one of our fellow Alpiners recently replaced the rear bags on his 2000 Alpine. He will probably follow -up with a brief discussion on the forum to complement this posting...Believe he cut the slot in the air bag to inspect the inside condition of the bag, vs being caused by some sort of failure or road damage.....

Thanks Old Scout for posting those pictures. I thought others might benefit from seeing an old cracking bag and what is happening internally to the bags. They were in need of replacement as the deep external cracks were going to meet up with smaller internal cracks soon. My coach is 18 years old, kept inside on jacks and has 93,000 miles on it for reference. The 2nd picture is the new bag before installing.
