I want to bring this thread back to life. I'd like to remove my drawer. I'm looking for inspiration. I'm thinking a raised section to house the leveling and switches that are in the drawer. If you have photos or ideas, please share them.
As an alternative, I'm thinking about keeping the drawer and sectioning out the drawer cup holders. This would mean the drawer only has to come out a shot way for access to the equipment. A new drawer stop would be needed too. anybody tried that?
Woodwork is not my forte, some I ma approacing this one slowly.

I would like to do something similar to this so that I can update the radio to a double din, as well as gain that couple of inches in clearance. I just haven't had the time to think about, so I'm following to maybe get some inspiration.
One dilemma for me is that I use one of the cup holders as a shelf to hold a small bowl of snacks for while I'm driving.

Amazing Creations just replaced my drawer with a panel. I had Scott add two Ram Mounts 1" ball mounts to the panel, and I can add a ball mount cup holder as needed. (Not pictured.) Or a variety of other ball mount items. So far I only drive it home from the shop, but the cup mount worked perfectly for a Yeti 20 oz. tumbler.

Ram mounts are a great Idea. I have a bunch of those in a box from my motorcycle days. A USB plug or 2 would be another good addition.

I had a fun filled day making a pattern for the board to mount my switches and HWH control. After lunch I decided that I must be the world's worst Carpenter.
Can you say measure once and cut twice (or more)? In my defence, the opening where the drawer goes is very irregular. The worst part was cutting off some of the plywood base in the cabinet. That wood is old and hard and in a tight spot. I used some 1/8" Luan playwood to make the piece shown in the photos below. I covered it with some contact paper to see how it would look. I like it. I plan to make another piece during my next work section and improve on some of the gaps where the original is just a little too small.

I don’t remember seeing a photo of an option upgrade with a smiling owner in the same frame! Very nice. Make template of the final version and I am sure a bunch of fellow Alpine’rs would be willing to buy a kit from you.

I cut it twice and it’s still too short.

Stage 1 complete. there may never be a stage 2. I used I/8" luan plywood (from Lowe's) to make my pattern. It took 3 before I got it just like I wanted it. I covered it in contact paper because I was seeking immediate gratification. I like it! I may never cut another piece out of pretty wood and then spend days putting on the finish. I may cut a piece of wood for the bottom, maybe a 1/3, shape it to fit the space and end up with a ledge to stand my phone on or to hold a pincel or 2. I might add a USB plug one day too.

Added a trim piece. It's made out of Oak. I can use the ledge for my phone or a pencil. I'll varnish the wood on the next warm day. I tried all the buttons and everything still works! That is always a good deal.

Looking good. It that a custom floor mat in front of the drivers seat? We have tile up front so I butchered a remnant to put there. The wife thinks it’s low rent and chucks it rearward when it’s her turn to drive. She might be more receptive to something made professionally.

The mat came with the coach when I bought it. It's just a small squarish mat that fits by the go pedal. I expect it was bought at a truck stop.
