WAY WAY

Definition of Opinion

opinion |əˈpinyən|
noun

A view or judgment formed about something, not necessarily based on fact or knowledge: I'm writing to voice my opinion on an issue of great importance | that, in my opinion, is dead right.

Someone left their window unlocked and they were robbed. How does that make KOA responsible?

Most KOAs are privately owned so the company doesn't have a whole lot to say how an owner handles anything. They do try to set standards.

The point is not that KOA is responsible, it is the apparent total lack of concern on their part.

I am in shock w/this particular post. I am an active RVer w/two small children. I own a franchised camp resort. I am normally reserved in my responses, but, the seemingly acceptance of this robbery as a normal occurrence is unaccectable.

There has never, ever been a robbery in my camp resort. If there was, I would openly discuss it and how it was handled.

I am active at the national, state and local levels and know approximately 200 campground owners. I don't even know any owner who has had a theft like this. If they did, they would certainly reach out to other owners or their franchise for help on how to handle the situation.

Granted, KOA is not legally (although probably civilly) responsible. However, the brand KOA makes a promise to consumers about certain things. I would think that not getting robbed would be the least of the criteria of a campground sporting the KOA name. This is how a KOA park commands a premium.

Provided the description of the facts is true, KOA's lack of response is not acceptable.

My gosh people, this is not the norm. To imply that, "Well the window was unlocked, so it's his own fault" is ridiculous.

If you consider that this particular place has had multiple incidents, KOA needs to stop thinking about numbers and start thinking about how they can keep their promise to the customer.
