shower valve possible leaking

We have a 2005 34' FDDS. I noticed the floor near the wall between the kitchen and the slide gap was a little wet. After removing everything from the cabinets under the sink it appeared dry there. So worked my hand between the rubber flexible trim between the slide and the wall and felt a very fine spray of water coming from what appears to be the shower piping and/or the shower valve. I have heard somewhere that if you remove certain mirors from behind the kitchen sink you can access the shower valve. Is this correct? And if so, which mirrors do I need to remove? Thanks for any and all help in advance!

Not sure, but I think it is the second mirror from the left. In my 40 FDQS there is also a panel in the upper cabinet that can be removed to allow access to the back of the shower fixture. You will need to be a contortionist from either access. Good luck! The dealer had replaced my control valve and didn’t tighten the nuts enough and only leaking when shower was on. Was looking in the wet bay once when DW just happened to be taking a shower and heard the water dripping.

It’s been awhile but I believe that with the slide retracted you can see behind the the kitchen wall mirrored backsplash. If not you can reach in there and feel the opening,. I will be surprised if you can remove the mirrors without breaking at least one.

We removed all of our mirrors and even doing our best to get them off in one piece and without chipping them we ended up with about half of them still useable. I found somebody on here that wanted them for spares and sent them to him.

I also have a panel in the upper cupboard.

Good luck, Terry

I had to replace the shower valve last winter. It froze. We have 2003 40 FDTS. I had to slide a very thin knife along top of mirrors above sink to loosen them. I think it was second panel from left. I had removed at least 2 panels. I also replaced panels with new since I damaged edges of mirror.

I also had to take valve handle from inside shower and ended replacing it. Also had to cut water line so ended up shortening it and splicing a piece back into line to get correct distances.

Wasn’t terrible project but did take sometime. Good luck.

Fixed. I was able to access and remove the shower valve by removing the access panel in the cabinet above the kitchen sink and the panel behind the kitchen wall(accessible when the slide is in). One of the elbows going into the valve had a pin hole in it. $3.00 part, 4 hours of being a contortionist.

Good for you glad you were able to repair it! Ruff on those old joints and thin skin though I imagine.
