Have a 40MDTS that RCA audio/DVD/receiver went bad.(terrible circulation in that compartment) Sent to Colorado service center for RCA. question is There are 2 pair of wires coming from Sat receiver, red & white on one and RGB on other. Believe I can hook R&W leads into input on Sharp TV and use headphones to hear with. Appreciate if anyone has had any experiences doing that? Thanks Larry

They are left and right audio outs. You can plug them into the Sharp TV. It has L&R audio inputs.

Wayne is correct. I too had the RCA system fail, since I was still under warranty, WRV sent me a new system (Kenwood) and I replaced it myself. Much nicer system with nicer speakers and better features.

Thanks
Mine is out of warranty by 2 mo. No wonder they fail, has to be 150 degrees in that compartment. Hooked up leads and connected a set of powered computer speakers they didn't work, hooked same speakers to rear tv and works fine. Routed off rear lip of compartment doors and installing expanded metal. Hopes that helps, Next step will be installing pushing fan in grillwork under compartment and drilling a bunch of 2" holes in bottom of center shelf. I'm sure this is a problem w/ a lot of units. Had a 2002 Zephyr and in summer receiver would get so hot that it would shut down. Grill work in doors fixed that problem. Going to quartzsite, see you there Larry

Sorry to hear you are just out of warranty. Since I have the Avalanche, looking at the installation, I do not think mine failed due to heat build up. I have a very large well ventilated cavity for the unit. When my system failed, it would sound OK, but it would not spin any disks, thus not reading them, either DVDs or music CDs.
