Small pothole or bumps in the road will cause my Kwikee step to rattle. With the step retracted, I checked for loose pivot points. I found play around the steel rivets. Has anyone replace these rivets?

For a long time I listen to my stair rattle anytime the tires encountered a bump in the road. Removed the step for a close examination. No worn out parts to replace. Determined the fix was easy and straightforward. Drilled a couple of holes and installed two rubber bump-stops. These were door stops I had kicking around. Bolted them in place and used fender washers as shims. So when the stair retracts, it pulls up tight to the bump stops and holds the pivot points firm. Rattle is gone! With the stair out, also took the opportunity to thoroughly lube all the moving parts.
It would be nice to see Kwikee have a well-designed step competitor.
