Unhappy Steering gear noise at low speed

Joe Cork ACA 2004612 -- 2002 Alpine 34FDDS with 107000 miles.
Exhibits persistent groaning noise, due to fluid cavitation, from steering gear when hot and doing low speed turns at idle rpm. Started at about 85000mi and has gotten progressively worse. A recall was issued by Sauer Danfoss or WRV prior to July 2007. Have you had this problem and corrected it as a result of the recall? Or independent of the recall?
In either case, what was the correction?

I had the same problem a fews years back on my previous MH (Fleetwood Providence). The PS filter was changed on a recall, and the noise was gone afterwards????

Smile Steering Gear Noise is fixed.

I had the pump checked at W.W. Williams in Phoenix last June. Found it to be operating just inside spec. Installed a seal kit for the Sauer Danfoss pump, but the result was a pump that operated just outside of spec. Purchased a new pump through Berendsen Fluid Systems in Sacramento, CA for $704 (including 150 air freight from England) and 3 months delivery time.
Pump is installed and working fine. We're using Allison Thansynd hydraulic fluid.

Joe- could you post your new pump model number for posterity?
Thanks, Mike
