Step cover

2007 quad slide 40 foot limited
Where is the power source for the step cover? May be #4 pin on PDM how ever all wires into PDM are 14 gauge. Wire at rocker switch is 10 gauge. Step cover works well when rocker switch is wired directly to a 12v terminal.
Thanks,
Rod

My cover power traces back to the chassis battery.
