My step operations have recently become intermittent and I'd like to start with the easy items.

Would you please provide the mag switch part number and source?

Thank you.

Unfortunately I don't remember which is which, but they come "normally open" and
"normally closed" and they are color coded.
Black is one way and white the other.
They weren't very expensive so I bought both for the project I was working on at the time.
You would test it with a multimeter like any other switch.

Check the door sensor switch, ours was shorting to the steel plate that is the firewall. Driving the steps would goin in and out. I wrapped the switch with electrical tape, problem fixed.
