It depends on the car you want to tow. Look in the owner's manual under towing your vehicle four wheels down. It will tell you if you can tow it and what to do to prepare it for towing. If buying a vehicle to tow don't listen to the dealer when he tells you "no problem" ….look in the manual!

Check the section called Recreational Towing.

That is where the info will be on towing 4 down, front wheels up, or trailer towing only.

Most front wheel drive, automatic cars, need to be towed on a dolly.

Owner Manual

If you don't have an Owner Manual go to the car manufacture and downloard the one for your car.
After doing that check to see if they make a Tow Bar for that car.

Most, but not all automatic trans or front wheel drive cars can be towed with all four wheel down. Some cars can be towed with the drive wheels on a dolly. My front whell car could not do to adjustable suspension,

Insert vehicle info here and get towing info about that vehicle
Store : Remco

Then verify via Owners Manual

Owners manuals can also be wrong as we found out when negotiating with Honda.

Towing

Old Biscuit:
OB, this is a great link. I put in my toad and it gave me all the info on what equipment I needed. When I changed the transmission from manual to auto it told me I must use a tow dolly. Great link, thanks.

Just be sure you validate that info with the owners manual.
