Transfer switch

My switch when bad while running on the generator. Both a/c stop at the same time. I thought the problem was in the transfer switch. When I open the cover the two common (white wires ) for ac out were disconnected (melted). I was able to fix it by replacing the wires to continue my trip. I ordered another transfer switch and installed it. Click image for larger version

As you can see from the pictures the plastic case got a little warm and it also developed a large crack.

It also wipe out my inverter. I happy to report I replaced both and every thing is up and running.

Yup, connections in the ATS & the 120 VAC breaker box need to have all the screws tightened annually!

Loose connection= resistance= heat ......
