Transfer Switch is bad order

We have a 2001 36FDDS that has a bad transfer switch. There is corrosion inside the case and one of the contactors is corroded also. I get nothing from shore power or generator.

The cover is melted in one corner (where the wires look corroded).

This is the original Todd ATS which aren't made anymore.

I assume someone has replaced their switch by now. I have found references to other brands, but I don't think those were Alpines.

Thanks

This is the one installed in my 2006. It also has a remote panel showing the status of the connection. Have a close look at the wire with the melted insulation. Cut it back as far as necessary or see if you need to replace it entirely.

Looks like water/moisture got inside. All the screws are rusty.

mine did that
i replaced it with a surge guard transfer switch which also compliments the surge guard power monitor module
my old ts was found to have corroded terminals, (my fault) from not looking at it closer
and what appeared to be a loose lug on the ground that then raised resistance and melted a wire

now i open them up at 6 months and check for anything out of order

Checking connections in the ATS and main 120 VAC breaker box should be part of your annual maintenance inspection.

The vast majority of failures are due to loose connections causing increased resistance, causing overheating and failure.

Transfer switch bad

Thanks for your help. I'll put the annual check of the switch on my checklist.

I sparingly used no-ox dielectric grease on the wire terminal connections and keep a disposable desiccant bag inside, and change it out once a year as part of annual inspection. Sorry, I don't have any replacement suggestions, the old Todd still works good. I agree, it looks like moisture may have been a factor.
