Victron Multi Plus 3000
Anyone changed out their inverter to a Victron Multi Plus 3000?

Yes. There are a few different versions take time to learn how they differ so you get what you want. The one we got does the power assist to both legs. Another version only assist on one leg. Might be some other differences too.
I can now run 30amps with no fear of running both roof AC thanks to the power assist. We run our whole shore power line through the inverter. So all outlets and appliances are on the inverter.
It is a very sophisticated piece of equipment. Take care of doing the settings yourself. Some places with config for you.

Victron Multiplus
We installed one in our 09 40MDTS. No big deal to install except for the weight. The multiplus-2 was too tall to install without changing locations.
We had to change some of the factory setting, fairly simple.
You will have to purchase a few additional part for programming and Bluetooth.
Very little electrical draw when no in use.
Overall I’m very happy
We purchased ours from Northern Arizona Wind & Solar in Flagstaff (all handled over the phone). They were very helpful.

I’ve installed both a Multiplus and a Multiplus II. The Explorist.life YouTube channel was a huge help. Nate, who runs the channel and accompanying website is very knowledgeable, and does a great job explaining the various components of a solar setup. Here’s a link from his website.

I have installed multiple Multiplus and MultiplusII units specifically in Alpine Coaches. There are some things that can be done based on what you are specifically trying to accomplish.
Drop me a note and I'm sure I can help or even arrange an installation if you don't want to take it on yourself

I have the 120x2. Runs both legs of 50 amp through the device and seamlessly will switch to inverter when power is removed. My microwave clock never needs to be reset.
Although it’s advertised at 3000VA it is de rated at temp.

3000VA = 2400W
But the inverter can handle 200% of the rated capacity for I think around 10 seconds..... which is enough (in my case) to start a rooftop AC unit, without soft start
I run 2XMultiplus 3000 units in my coach which allows all circuits (including AC) to run from the inverter(s). FYI.... the MultiplusII will pass through both legs of a 50A circuit so if you were to have a 240V circuit installed (dryer maybe or 240V mini-split) it would work when plugged in but would not work on either a 7500/8000W generator or 30A circuit..... although both legs would work on battery or generator to power all circuits with 2400W of power available.
If you want to power both AC units or a 240V circuit you would still need dual multiplus or Multiplus units to achieve true "Split Phase" power from battery/generator or 30A shore power

Thank you for bringing that interesting spec to light. I'd missed it previously. Victron model numbers represent VA @ 20C, whilst Xantrex Freedom and Magnum MS models represent actual Watts. (at 40C, in the case of Xantrex). Is it a European thing with Victron? It's a tad misleading for the average buyer contemplating a Multiplus 12/3000 vs. a Xantrex SW3012, for example, when the latter actually has 25-36% more capacity (depending on temp).
Now, Victron is great product - I own the brand, but this triggered an 'ah-hah' for me.

Actually Victron is based in Europe (The Netherlands) and they started in the Marine industry...no sure but all their units are and always have been spec'd that way
