1 Country of Origin
2 Manufacturer Code
3 Vehicle Type
4–8 Model/ Engine type/ Body Style (specific to Manufacturer)
9 Check Digit (Proves the VIN is not fake)
10 Model Year
11 Plant
12-17 Unique Serial Number of the Vehicle

Thanks, but trying to find out more specifically about an Alpine Coach vin.
