Weird RV Sounds

Leaving this thread title broad so everyone can post their inexplicable noises.

My specific noise is something electric or hydraulic or pneumatic related to the brake system.
In the middle of the night a whining whirring sound started without the coach being on.
Long story short I accidently stopped it by pressing the brake pedal.

Anyone have a guess?

Sounds like the electric boost for the brakes came on. With engine off, any pressure on the brake pedal will activate it. Do this and see if it is your noise.

If so, figure out what caused it:.

Yup--sounds like hydro-boost brake....not sure what actually triggers the pump motor but brake [light] switch might be a good place to start.....
PS--it would be good to add you coach info on your post by-line---after 293 posts, its time.....

Is there a spring that returns the brake pedal to the “full upright” position? If so, perhaps it is weak and is allowing the pedal to drop just enough to trigger the boost.

Do you have a cat or dog in the RV?
If so, do you sometimes find them sitting the driver's seat? Maybe it bumped the brake pedal.

Do you have a hydraulic leveling system? Mine seems to check on itself occasionally and starts the electric pump to make adjustments. It took me a few weeks to recognize the sound as a hydraulic pump.

My odd sound is muffled music and people muttering at night. I don't live near anyone and nobody lives with me.

Well, two things come to mind. Your place is haunted, or you have tinnitus (no, really).

Thanks for all the input.

Why does my signature keep dropping off?
