Window lock falling off 2002 Alpine

Hello all,
I would sure appreciate some help with my most current problem. This winter two window lock plates have fallen off. I am referring to the piece of metal that fits on one side of the slid windows and also contains the locking mechanism. I have a 40 foot 2002 alpine coach with three slide outs. The piece has a metal channel lined with a rubber gasket material. It will not slide back on. If I could get it back ON, what adhesive do I use to keep it on.

I did not find this problem any where in the forums.

Thanks

Frank

Not sure if we are talking about the same thing but we broke one of the window latches and found the replacement thru Aubrey's in Union Gap. I sent them a picture of the broken part and they sent me the right replacement. Hope this helps.

I had one come off once some years back and here is what I did. Remove the rubber insert and place on the glass, then gently tap the aluminum extrusion over the rubber and back in to place. I used a rubber hammer with a piece of wood to make sure I did not crack the glass. I did not use any adhesive but you could use the type they use to bond windshields.

You could use FlexSet epoxy adhesive. You will never get it off short of exploding the glass, so do it right the first time. Clean off any excess right away for a clean job.
