Wiper arm slaps bangs

My passenger side arm is either slapping the windshield at the far right or the two arms are slapping together. Is there a adjustment or something,my driver side arm doesn't do this.

Jim

Wiper arm slaps

My passenger side wiper slaps the glass or the two arms slap each other at the far right part of the stroke. Does anyone know of any adjustments to make it not travel so far to the right?

Thank you Jim.
Ps where do y'all go in IRV2 to add your make and model of coach to signature?

Are both of your wipers in the center of the windshield at rest and wiping outwards or they both move left/ right together and passenger side at rest near edge?

I put mine back together wrong accidentally with both moving left / right and passenger side was buffeting in the wind afterwards. There is a lot of turbulence near the sides of the windshield and almost none in the middle.

After I realized what I had done I changed the passenger side back to rest in the middle and problem solved. Just had to turn the mechanism for the passenger wiper 180 degrees and reattach.

Maybe someone made same mistake I did?

Take the nut off the bottom of the arm where it mounts, pull the arm off, make a mental note of the angle. There's a knurled nut in the arm so don't let it get away. You can move the arm either way when you remount it so it doesn't touch anything during the stroke.

I have 2005 Alpine with the same problem. I looked at it a while back and the answer wasn't obvious. I will be looking at it again. I hope someone posts the answer in the meantime.

One of my arms broke, so I replaced both.
On my '05, the tricky part was getting the arms on the knurled post in the right position.
I couldn't do it with them in the 'flat' or normal operating position.
I had to have the hinge bent like when you fold them down to clean the windshield.
This made figuring out the position difficult, but after a few trial and error test fits, I got them on.
They should both "park" at the center, and they move opposite each other.

This is my same experience too, I just went through this last month. I broke one of the small studs that the second littler arm pivots on and had to take it all apart to fix.

On my driver's side arm, the support the spring attaches too failed.
The little curved end of the spring pulled right through the metal in the arm.

New arms work pretty well, but they still don't clean the bottom left part of the windshield as well as I'd like.
