""wireless" rear view monitor VS brake pedal

Here is a strange one. I recently had a so called wireless rear view monitor installed on my 2002 Western Alpine. Monitor works but when I press the brake pedal something interfers with the wireless signal and the screen shows "lost signal". Just when needed the most backing into a camp site. Release the brake and the signal comes back. Can't imagine anything electronic in the brake system. Any thoughts?

Sounds like you may have wired power to your camera via the normally closed position of your brake switch, losing power when you depress the brake pedal. If not that, I would guess that your brake switch disables something that powers your camera. Never seen this before but this is just a guess.

I'd be checking the install of the camera.
Installer may have hooked the camera ground to the brake light wiring, thinking it was a ground wire, instead of doing the right thing and making a new good ground.

Or a bad ground at the rear.. that will do it too.

is the camera wired or wireless? are your tow lights wired or Wireless

That can do it too, wireless/wireless interference (RFI)

Many thanks for all the replies. The problem is the wireless (and yes, it is wireless) not the 12 VDC .
