nssracer,

I successfully plug my 2006 Alpine Coach Limited into a 110-120 volt 15 or 20 Amp house circuit without any problems. Have you tested the circuit that you are plugging into? Try a simply tester such as the one at this link:

a1Components - Skywalker Signature Series AC Power Tester

The features are:
  • For 110 volt GFCI and standard circuits
  • Shows opens and proper polarity
  • Shows open ground, neutral and hot
  • Show hot/neutral reverse and hot/ground reverse
  • Operates on live 120V circuits
  • Simple push-button operation tests receptacles connected to ground fault protected circuits for proper operation
You can buy these at any hardware store.

Doug:

If there is a GFI in the same circuit as your 110 outlet, the fault will show.

I also saw the same thing happen if an old screw in fuse is in the same circuit.

Both not necessarily in line, just on, the same circuit.

You need one of three things.

1: A better Xantrex like the Prosine 2.0 which can tell you what the )(@#$ fault is.

2: A 3-Light fault outlet tester (I'm guessing you have something it can detect)

3: An electrician (you may need that anyway)

I have one 30 amp outlet I have plugged into where the fault display on my Xantrex tells me "Reverse Polarity"

What this means is some idiot could not tell the difference between a black wire and a white wire and thus hooked the white wire to the copper screw and the black wire to the silvery screw

A 3-Light tester would show the same thing

The other fault is open ground... or bad ground. again the 3-light job will find that for you in a hurry..

In either case. if you do not have the skills. an electrician can fix it quickly.
