1987 27' Dolphin TV replacement

I know there are alot of these threads and I have read most.

I am looking to replace my front TV, the issue is it is in the dash. Not above the windshield.

I have 15 - 16 inches of space to put one in.

I am looking at a 19" to make it worthwhile and trying to figure out what to do with this hole in the dash and where to put the TV.

I was thinking attached to the ceiling or the wall over the chair between the door and passenger seat.

Anybody tackled this yet and have a solution?

I would start out looking at a thin frame 19" LED. the dimensions may allow it to fit in the space. If it is slightly larger, you could mount it on the outside as long it didn't interfer with other dash functions.

You would want to use a flat mount if mounting on the outside or you could use an articulating mount placed inside the empty space. This would allow you to move the TV away from the dash when necessary or to change viewing angles. I know the 19" Haier TVs are actually 12v but use a wall wart so they also operate on 110v. I used these in my last coach so I didn't need an inverter to watch TV while dry camping.

This is what I did. I now have a 22 inch HD flatscreen, no base...works great. Travels flat against the wall and tied back. Rook

Thanks guys.

Rook I am thinking in that line actually. You have shelves above your chair behind the passenger, mine is empty space so I may go higher.

How did you attach to the wall?

I would advise on NOT going higher. Much easier, convenient viewing. I got a 1"x6"X2.5 foot finished, beautiful red oak board from HD and mounted it on the wall between the windows, close to the seat belt mount with bolts designed for heavy mounting in sheet rock. I got lucky and screwed the left side bolts (lag bolts) into the metal wall truss. All the other bolts are solid also. I can send a close-up the of the mounting detail, if you wish. Rook
