1997 Sea Breeze front TV removal/Replacement

We just bought a 1997 Sea Breeze and after one trip, the old standard definition tube TV has to go. I can't figure out how to get the old one out and would love some input from a DIY who has made the replacement in this model. My TV is in the dash, not in an overhead compartment.

we have a 2004 Newmar Kountrystar which I took the TV out of the same location and now that area is a storage area. sorry I can not remember how I got it out but I do remember it was not easy. just look all around as best u can. there is probably wood trim attached to the TV cabinet. start by finding a way 2 get that off. from there just look all around. if I remember correctly there was something holding the TV in place at the back of the TV which I had 2 disconnect in order to get the TV out or maybe it was to move the TV to get to the brackets on the wood trim.
I hope this helps.
good luck.

my 2000 sea view had a wood trim with little plugs that cover drywall screws, remove these and the tv may have a few more brackets holding it in,

My '97 Endeavor had a Tv in dash between driver and passenger. Mine had a wooden bezel that surrounded the screen and had four plugs (carefully pry out with edge of utility knife). 4 screws ... remove bezel. My TV was resting on a shelf with wooden blocks around it to to keep it from sliding. BTW, the TV was plugged into an outlet that was controlled by a relay. The relay prevented the Tv from coming on while vehicle was in motion.

Turns out it was easier than I thought. The old 200 pound TV was just resting on a fiberglass bed in the dash (no screws). I simply rotated the TV forward and after a bit of resistance and help from my wife, voila, out she popped. Thanks for the posts.

This is what mine looks like after removal of TV and turning it into a console for maps/binoculars/sunglasses, etc.

WOW! That's a sweet replacement. Did you have a cabinet maker do it?

Thanks!

Nope ... just me. The lower tray (cup holders) is original and was under TV .... on drawer slides. The console and the wood flooring and paneling around "doghouse" are new. Receiver/CD player is a Sony ... 12vdc power point was also added. Old location in dash for old receiver (closer to driver) was filled with a blank panel with a velcro big-number clock on it. Receiver is now accessible to driver and passenger/navigator.

I used an "open compartment" concept so I can rummage around for sunglasses, cellphone, etc. without messing with doors/drawers while driving

Small area by driver's feet is vinyl flooring (easy cleanup).

pretty much works for me !!
