1997 Tropi-Cal Kwikee Step Question

I've got a 1997 National Tropi-Cal 36'. The previous owner had taken off the Kwikee electric step when it had failed years ago. However I still see the wiring harness and have the switch.

Can anyone tell me which model Kwikee step was used on the Tropi-Cal around that time frame?

I've called Kwikee and they were not very helpful and had no way of looking up what they sold back then..

I'd love to replace the step, but ideally with the same model in the hope that the existing controls would all work, mounting holes line up, etc..

Thanks!!

I've got the paper work for my 99 with Kwikee steps , would you have had the single, dual or triple step model?

Kwikee, owners manual #874 dated 3/96, lists single step as a 28 series, double step as a 32 series. Don't know if these #'s mean anything today.
Hope this helps, if you need more I can scan this manual through as a pdf file to you.
Contol module is mounted on the steps, so if they have been removed, and the wiring and door switch is all you have left, then installing a newer step package should not be difficult. Plug in may not be the same , but if you have good feeds ( battery, igniton, door switch and on/off switch) then installing a new set of steps should not be a problem.

Download the training manual from this site http://sdrv.ms/Wg5cvQ it has all the models with dimensions so you can determine from the mounting holes which your coach had.

Best way to accomplish that would be to purchase the complete assembly from a salvage company that comes from a Trop-i-Cal or Dolphin. It will be a single step model, being that close to the ground and any others should work with some modification.
