1998 Tradewinds ignition switch

Hi fellow RVers,

I am once again posting for an older friend who needs help with an issue in replacing the ignition key switch on his 1998 Tradewinds 40 foot diesel pusher on a Freightliner frame.

Someone broke into my friends motorhome and stole his 50 amp cord and his keys. Luckily, they only got the ignition key and not the door or side box keys.

Here is the problem. He can’t locate anyone who can cut a key for the old tumbler. The old tumbler had to be drilled out as the only way to remove it is while the factory key is in the ignition. Seeing how he no longer has that key they had to drill the tumbler.

So now the hunt begins for a new ignition key tumbler that plugs into the factory wiring harness.

So if anyone knows of an aftermarket key switch assembly that will work it would be greatly appreciated. Hoping to get it resolved in case he has to move his rig in the near future.

Thanks for any responses.

Yep. Get an ignition switch for a 72 Chevy truck, and you are in business!
