2002 Tradewinds fan blower motor location and replacement
The fan blower motor on my 2002 Tradewinds is frozen. First I need to get to it. It is buried somewhere inder the dash. Can someone guide me on the best way to find it and get to it? Which side? What to take off without taking the whole front end apart?
Second, the the motor buried in an assembly or is it accessable once I get to it?

Dan do you have any info on the brand of dash A/C in your coach ?
Evans/Tempcon or Denso ?

Not specifically. I have only seen the control panel to date and that looks similar to controls in Fords of the same vintage.
I can go dig around. The overall panel looks like it is held in by only a handful of screws. Would there be a marking on the portion of the control hidden behind the dash?

The most visible marking on my, Evans system , is on the plastic housing , outside the firewall above the gen set on my Newmar.
The blower motor is right of center behind the dash and held in by three screws.
Second picture shows the fan speed resistor with the motor 1/2 in frame at the bottom. I can JUST remove the blower motor behind the dash , 1/4" longer squirrel cage and it wouldn't come out.

Looking from the front, you should see the Evans Temp Con unit to your left at the top above the genny.

Attached ia a picture from the drivers side. Is there any way to remove part of the console? I can see one screw, not the other 2.

Dan ; you'd need about 5" clearance behind the end of the motor to get the squirrel cage to clear the housing , that area doesn't show up in your picture .
I'll assume the passenger side of the dash continues right down to the floor . 
Makes for a great looking area , but limits the available space for your repair.

Thanks for the follow up. I am hoping I can remove the backup display and perhaps a section of the console. There are air delivery hoses I may be able to remove from the fan box to provide some working space. I want to check the motor at the connection to confirm it is the motor and not upstream.

I lucked out. The console 'end' holding the backup monitor, etc. was held in by 3 screws and velcroed the main console. The velcro was stubborn but I was careful and persistent, in the end the end piece came off. From there it was a clear shot to the motor. I have it pulled and will check it out.
(On the upside I have been meaning to replace the monitor so this removed the 'how do I get it out question' from that project.

Well, the journey is not over. I tested the motor in a 12V 20 Amp source and it worked just fine. I took a spare dash blower fan motor (don't ask why I have one :( ) and tested it in the fan circuit - It did not work. This is a circuit problem.
There is 12 V on the circuit at the fan connection. This is somewhere in the wireing circuit. This could be anywhere upstream from the fan motor conncetion.
There is a coach ignition relay in the rear bay. There should be a 12V ignition relay associated with the front circuits somewhere closer to the dash.

Did you remove the blower resister block and check to see if it's broken ?
EDIT: Here's what I have on Evans/Tempcon dash wiring .

I have been pulled away from this project - family medical. All is OK, just no time.
Wow. This is great. It is exactly what I need. I will print a copy and with my meter diagnose where the loss of power it.

I understand completely . DW is recovering from one round of carpel tunnel surgery and waiting to have the other wrist done , I've been relegated to housework , grocery shopping and cooking . FUN, fun , fun.

I would like to start with insuring the incoming power is working. I have a picture of the fuse block compartment on the drivers side, but my phone is not sending it due to size.
The schematic refers to a 30 AMP source. There are both fuses and relays in the bay. Their labeling is poor, IGN 1, IGN 2 etc. Do you know of a source for a schematic / layout diagram for the fuse block bay? I am not sure if it is Spartan or National? I believe it is Spartan because there is one small Spartan label on one of the wires.
