Good morning and I mean good morning. As I shared earlier, when I got the rig out of storage and then start doing some more testing I would let you know what I found out.

I did talk to John at RV Products quite a while. Not only about this issue but we had other things in common. We both felt that the ckt bkr is probably this issue after I shared all that I had done to check things. He was going to send me a replacement 50 amp one, but I told him I already had one, but needed to get the rig here to test it out.

Rig is here and the bottom line is it was the ckt bkr. I put a 60 amp ammeter in line with the original bkr and it just hung around 55-60 amp draw and started resetting itself. I replaced it with the new 50 amp bkr. It is not resetting itself and the ammeter is displaying the current draw for that moment. The current draw will change as the need changes.

Greg, to your question about a possible change on the panel. When I talked to John about that, he said that he likes the idea of the converter cable going to the battery. In essence it is doing that on the panel, if you look at the diagram it shows J7 going to the ckt bkr and the other side of the ckt bkrgoing to the solenoid to the coach battery side and that cable is going to the coach battery. So I donít think it was changed by a person, but by the factory as time went on.
Something else John mentioned was that the ckt bkrs on the panel are not thermal breakers, except for ckt bkr 3, they are manually resettable. Greg, when you get time, look at the TOP of the ckt bkrs and there is a little reset button. I did not know this and it is good info in case one of those ckt bkrs did trip we now know they can be reset.

Steve, Iím aware of the ckt bkrs having a copper looking lug, the shorter one, for source and a silver looking lug, the longer one, for load on them. Iím sure the ones Iíve used in the past were mounted either way. If you look at my picture that shows the reset button on top, you will notice that the ckt bkrs are mounted upside down to allow you to push the reset button.

Couple more things to do, we are loading up and off to Agua Caliente with friends this weekend. Iíll be monitoring this while we are there.

Here are some pictures
Pic 1 is the new ckt bkr
Pic 2,3 is the org ckt bkr with the cover removed
Pic 4 is the reset button on top

Thanks all for your help in this

OK since I didnít get this off before we left Iíll just continue from here. The system worked just like itís supposed to. No resetting problems at all. I did feel the ckt bkr during the day and it wasnít hot, felt like the others.
If I ever need to mess with the bdc again, I'll cut off the mounting tabs.
