2004 Dolphin RCA TV sets

Finally got the TV wiring sorted out in my Dolphin and both original 2004 TVs work fine with my satellite receiver. I'll probably replace both TVs at some point, but I don't relish the challenge of retrofitting a new main TV into the overhead cabinet. We have a lot of things going on right now so I'll probably wait until things are not so busy to tackle that.

In any case, every time the AC power is cut to the coach both RCA TVs lose their setup memory and I have to tell them to rescan their channels. A bit of a PITA when you're changing campsites regularly. Is there a way to make them default to cable channel 4 whenever the power is cut?

It occurred to me after I wrote my post that probably not too many still have the original TV sets. Hopefully, someone does or remembers how they worked!

Just chuck them both asap, 32" LED LCD in the front, 22" in the bdrm, mine run off the solar panels through an inverter while dry camping.

Yeah, I was kind of hoping they didn't work, lol, but since they do I have other things I need to spend money on first, i.e. brakes for the toad, cover for the Dolphin, etc.

Look for a used Brake Buddy online or in the free ad papers in places like Yuma and Mesa, they go for as little as $150. I got one of those fancy covers when I first purchased my 2004 Dolphin, it lasted 2 years, waste of money. I just use (3) large tarps now.

My $2k toad came with a Brake Buddy and a Roadmaster hitch, but the rotors on the toad are warped. I do most car repairs myself so that won't be more than $100 start to finish.

I've learned not to go crazy on expensive RV covers. Polypropylene doesn't stand up to the Arizona sun no matter who makes it. Polyester does a bit better, so I look for a sacrificial polyester cover that's affordable and just plan on replacing it every couple of years. Too much money invested in my rig to let the sun destroy it.

We had the 500 lb TV up front too. And,yes, you had to jump through hoops every time you moved.

Had it removed while in a shop for some other service. They set it on the floor for me. If you take yours out be careful...those babies are heavy.

We don't watch TV 99% of the time so I just put a tiny LCD TV in the cabinet and store other stuff there.

It's so weird being the same age as old people.
