2005 Dolphin 5342 Front Speakers
We recently purchased an '05 Dolphin 5342 with the SS upgrade, leather upgrade and four door fridge. We have only taken one trip so are still discovering features of the coach but are more than pleased with our purchase. One thing I can't figure out are the two speakers behind the cloth grills next to the overhead compartments on the drivers and passengers side. There are speakers and wires attached but no sound coming from them with either TV or Dash radio which are both original. I've searched the forums and can't find any reference. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance.

They are speakers for the surround sound system if you have one.

Have you checked the speaker settings on the in dash radio.
The ( fade ) may be set to the rear speakers only.

Are you sure you have speakers there? My Dolphin has no speakers behind the cloth grills next to the overhead compartments on the drivers or passengers side. I had to pull the panel apart to physically see for myself.

My 05 Dolphin has the speakers and wires but they end all wraped together behind the component switch box.

Same with our 06 5355, attached to the player.

You need to balance your speakers through the radio. It seems to me that they are shut off in the radio.

Simple answer, previous owner removed the surround sound system. You will have to start from scratch and install a new system, if you intend to use those speaker locations.
Just wondering, what unit is in the cabinet just below the Winegard switcher? The RCA Surround Sound System was originally installed there.

The RCA DVD/VCR is installed below the Winegard switch and nothing else in the cabinet.

Kruzr, that is your Surround Sound system, and should drive the speakers you are troubleshooting. Do you have the owners manual for the system, if not go to the internet. Fred

On my 5342, the radio speakers were in the ceiling. There was nothing in the built-in side speaker housings that I could find, but it was very difficult to get to them. I added my own surround sound.
