2005 Dolphin LX skylight

To update this issue. I just ordered a skylight for my 2005 Dolphin from the folks at FoxLite. Mine is the 16x24 as listed on their website

http://foxlite.com/wp-content/upload...D-Brochure.pdf

It lasted a few years but couldn't stand up to the latest hail event in north Texas.

Sorry about the hail damage, I hope the new skylight has a longer life.

I sure hope so as well. It was refreshing to see that the part was still available. The fellow I talked with at FoxLite was extremely helpful.
Happy Motoring...

Did you get the 2 or 3 pane skylight and what was the cost, if you don't mind me asking?

This skylight is a one piece "curbed" unit. That means that it fits down over an elevated box and fastens with screws into the box. This unit is 16x24 and I ordered a new gasket as well. The price delivered to me in Texas was right at $100.00.

Thank Kent, I was in Florida last week and found that I had a leak coming from somewhere around the skylight.
I pulled mine apart today to reseal it, found one of the screws either stripped or wood rotted (probably not) and I think that's where the water was coming from. Didn't notice any obvious breaks or bad caulking but I'm sure it was getting in somewhere. Anyhow, resealed it and I think I'll be good now.
My skylight was 2 layers with the plastic curb. I was asking the price if I need to replace it in the future.
Thanks

Your skylight is exactly the same as mine. The new one came with the clear inner layer already sealed to the outer tinted layer. Luckily the inner layer did not break from the hail. More rain expected tomorrow and the next day so I am going to wait until it is over..

Same problem

Mine is a little more than the pic show. I am gonna have to replace the wood frame around the skylight. Does anyone know how the wood frame is anchored to the ceiling. Also how hard is it to replace the ceiling on the inside of the coach above the shower?

I cut and removed the white fabric ceiling material, above the shower, plus a couple more inches outside the shower. Replaced it with an off white countertop laminate. No more stains, easily cleaned, and looks much nicer. Wood trim covered the edge of the laminate where it joined to the carpet like ceiling material.

Guys, make sure you caulk the screws that attach the skylight to the curb. I had water find its's way in past the screw threads.

Is yours the CE shaped like and emerald cut gemstone*skylight? That's what my Dolphin has. It not broken, I'm sure it is brittle after 17 years.

Don't want to steal this thread, but upon removing my skylight to replace it. I noticed the wood surrounding the hole has substantial water damage. Does anyone know how this wood is anchored/installed or how to remove it? Thanks John

It is just a simple wood frame, just pry the old wood out and replace, I think I used 1x3, and glued and screwed it in.
