2006 Dolphin Shower Leak

We recently purchased a used 2006 National Dolphin 34ft, with a Workhorse Vortec 8.1 engine. We really like the motorhome but have little knowledge and have been learning as we go. We were traveling and found that the shower was leaking on the outside wall into the salon area. I was told that you could open the monitor panel like a door and then behind it was a panel that you had to remove to access the plumbing area. The panel door has these little button nubs do they need to be popped off and is there a screw behind them. We have tried to pull it open but it will not budge. Any help is greatly appreciated

Yes the little wood plugs/buttons have to be removed to get to the screws. Remove the screws and yo can get to the back of the shower.

Regarding the post in the other forum - did you get your monitor panel open?

It just swings open, but may feel like it doesn't budge at first. Mine latches pretty securely, but it does just swing open.

Maybe post a picture of these plugs of which you speak? This is a picture of my 2005 Dolphin behind the monitor panel. You can see the shower plumbing access panels still in place behind it.

You might want to look at the sky light on the roof . When mine did this the seal on the sky light was leaking.

Shower leak

Behind the mixer valve connection the brass elbow pec connector had cracked and we believe this was due to improper winterization by previous owner. We have had several other areas that have leaked. To repair this we cut the pec pipe and replaced with a 16" sink line and a shark bite connector. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply.
Yes this does help, maybe not today but in the future if one of us have a leak it that area that will be one of the places we check.
Again, Thanks
