What is this switch for? It's not for the radio, so what does the AUX switch do?
This might sound silly, but remove the 5 screws holding the overall plate to the dash, pull it out a bit, and see if it even has any wires attached to it. If it doesn't, you'll have your answer. If it does you're still lost.....
