2006 Sea breeze 8341 front tv box converted to storage

We are planning to remove our front tv and convert the box to storage. I would be very interested if any of you have converted this space to storage-particularly if you installed some sort of door to contain the items inside. We are thinking about a tambour-type door (like on a roll-top desk) but not sure if that will work or not-of course because of the location, it needs to be secure enough not to come open while driving, so any ideas are welcome! Pictures would be great as well if you have them. Also, we want to keep the box intact in case we ever want to put a tv back in there. Thanks so much in advance!

Took the old CRT TV out of ours and relocated a new flat screen across from the couch - easier to see.

Then made a door faux panel to mount the flat screen to and hinged so we still had access to that cabinet. Used one of those rotating window locks to hold it closed, and the flat screen mostly hides the faux panel.

Took the TV cabinet out and shortened to get rid of most of the hump. Then modified the previously removed cabinet door, made a header to use the door a hinged mount to cover the old CRT opening. Still have access to store things but it mostly has media cables and such in it.

I would rather have increased view driving down the road than more storage in that area.

I did the same for the bedroom TV.

I’ve got inserts in each cabinet behind the TV’s to power the 120vac flat screens on the occasions that we boon-dock (our old coach, I replaced the CRT’s with 12vdc TV’s).

Warning: TV is HEAVY!!!

We took the TV out and I built a frame around the box and we put a flat screen in there in our 2005 Seabreeze. It’s on an adjustable arm. Be prepared when removing the old TV. It is CRAZY heavy - not a job for one person!
