2006 Tradewinds Outside Step

Hello,

Im new to this forum, first time posting but have been frequenting here reading and learning for a while.

We just purchased a 2006 National Tradewinds 40D. So far we are very pleased with our purchase, and have spent some time figuring out everything.

There is one thing I havent been able to figure out yet. Our last bus had a switch that would change how the outside steps function ie open/close with the door, stay open while parked, and stay closed. With this bus the kwikee steps open and close with the door, and we can find a switch to change the function. Is there a switch to change the step functions, and if so where is it?

Also, I have found the battery disconnect for interior "cabin" power. Is there also a disconnect for the chassis batteries for winter storage?

thanks in advance!

Sorry I can't help with an exact override switch location on your coach, for the steps.
Don't know if this will be any help but , mine is on a panel of three, switches, accessible without climbing any steps , by the passenger seat on the wall, 1- interior, 2-porch , 3 -step override.

Step Switch

Hello,

On a 2000 Tradewinds 7371 the switch is on the switch panel to the right of the front passenger side chair down low. It is on the left as you come in the door, it is labeled step. On mine this panel has 9 switches it is the bottom right switch looking at the panel. This switch only controls the step when the ignition is not on. If the ignition is on, the steps will open and retract with the door being opened and closed regardless of the step switch position. Don,t know if this will help at all being different years and models. Good luck.

On mine which should the same as yours the switch is bottom pass side panel 2nd switch up on right lower side of panel. Only controls it when coach is off, otherwise when it is running it will retract auto when door is shut.
The batt shut offs you are looking for are blade switches located above all the batts in second compartment from rear, pass side.
