2006 Tradewinds rear hood latch stuck.

1st time trying to open the rear hood to engine access. I can feel the latch at the bottom of the hood but I can't get it to open (unlock) hood. I've tried every direction to move latch but it won't budge. Seems like it should pull back toward me to open hood but I can't get it open. Any ideas or advise?
Thanks.

My 98 doesn't have a latch......if it originally had one, it was removed by the PO. It is held down, and up, by two piston springs, one on each side, like the bay doors. Rook

It was stuck. Finally got it to open by pulling the latch back toward me. Thanks to Tom and Glenna I had a little more confidence in pulling that direction as hard as I could. Once opened I sprayed a little WD40 on the latch and it opens easy now.

No problem I have fixed or replaced lots of stuff on mine if I can help let me know as my Tradewinds is almost identical to yours.
