I have a 2005 national Rv dolphin.
Had a professional shop install new xrv tires. I drove in with a very smooth ride on older michelin same tires and drove out with significant vibrations. Old tires had machine weight balance. New tires have the beads! Has anybody experienced problems with new installations and any recommendations for vibration issues.

I'd suggest checking the tire pressure. Over inflated tires will cause a harsh ride.

Does the ride smooth out after driving a mile or so?

I've heard that it takes a bit for the beads to get in the proper position after starting.

Our experience was when we had two XRV tires installed on the front wheels and beads were installed to balance the tires; we notices a vibration. We drove 1000 miles in threes days and an annoying vibration persisted. At that time I had the two front tires spun balanced and the vibration was eliminated. One of the wheels had to have 12oz. of weights added to balance it. In the future I will have any new tires that are installed spun balanced.

RV735, I know that's a big tire, but 12 oz weight on those gold plated Michelins? Give me Goodyear or those Samson tires I read very good things about.

Dick Berry (the Berrys) said to me that he will NEVER allow "beads" in his tires again. He thinks they were the source of slow leaks in the valves of this tires. That's why I insisted on finding a place that can "spin balance" truck tires recently when I replaced all 6 of my Michelin tires with new Michelins. Rook

Great i will spin bal on monday. I was stunned to warch a truck shop take sludge hammer to tores to break out beads then throw a bag of bead in. Hopefully they didnt damage rims.

Its amazing to watch tire guys man handle large tires, oh to be young again, most are good at it and they dont damage rims. It take a specialized expensive balancer to do the big rims with the large center hole. XRV tires are large and heavy, 12 oz does not seem out of line considering 2 -3 oz on car tire. Most shops dont have the balancer so they tell you the beads will work. Dont belive it. Spin balancing is the proper way to go.

If you are going to spin balance, be sure to remove the beads.

Beads are ok, they just don't put enough in to do the job.

I use bb's, you can use golf balls, water / antifreeze mix, or something else that's round small n heavy, they all work fine. You will notice a bit of vibration after a sharp bump ( like most of the bridges or overpasses ) for a very short period until they realign.

Years ago you could purchase a round ring filled with bb's that mounted under the rim on the hub, advantages to bb's vs weights is you ain't gonna knock them off and they look a lot better than weights stuck on a nice aluminum rim. bb's vs beads.... the beads will pack into their fav area in a tire and can really bounce if jarred loose, bb's you'll never have a problem with, throw a pound in, too many not a problem, they find where they need to be inside the tire and stay there until stopped. Have ran them for years with no problems in car, pickup and truck tires.
