97 Dolphin PowerGear jack control kit

Hi Everyone,

I am about ready to undergo the replacement of the hyd. jack control unit and wire harness. Have had the kit since last year, but kept putting the project off as the jacks will retract automatically as soon as I start the engine. This is the P-30 Chevrolet chassis, and I was wondering if anyone out there has performed the surgery and can offer any tips. I guess after crawling under the dash, I am a bit taken back by removing the old harness as everything is wound so tight into a very small area. I have yet to locate the pump end 8-pin connector that will be replaced outside the firewall, but seem to understand the splicing of the wires and re-grounding. Any help or encouragement certainly appreciated!

Sorry can't help you with the jack kit. I just bought the same year RV and chassis and I can't find the OBD port. Was wondering if while you are under the dash if you can find it and give me some clue as to where it is? Thanks

You have OBD 1 the test port is different then the OBD II port. Try asking in the Workhorse Chevrolet Motorhome Chassis Forum for help reading the codes.
