Access panel for engine compton front of MH
The handle on the access panel to the engine on my Dolphin not working like it should. The center button will not remain pushed in and the handle will not remain pushed in when closing the handle.
Any ideas?
Ron

The arm bends easily. Make sure it is going into the slot correctly.

The handle works as it should. What is not working correctly is when the handle has been turned back to the stow position it will not stay-in when pushed in to the normal stow position.

Just looked at mine. Can't help; never had one apart. If you're a handy-man, take it off and apart to see what is not latching. Try some WD-40 first.

Try cleaning the the push button mechanism with some contact cleaner. You may need to do it several times. Try to not get the contact cleaner on the paint. If that works lube it with some lock lube. I lube all of my locks twice a year with a spray graphite for locks. Don't use WD 40 it will gum up the lock. If cleaning does not work, and you want to replace the the latch, you can contact TriMark the manufacturer here 010-0600 Flush Mounted Pop-up T-Handle | TriMark Corporation

Mine was doing the same thing. In sprayed WD 40 on the button several times. It loosened up and now works fine.
