Atwood Furnace Fan

my 99 seaview 31 ft atwood furnace seems to be working good and supplying
adequate heat in my coach if i let the furnace run.

only problem is when the fan is on it seems to be very noisy??? i know this
is a older coach and the new rv furnaces are probably a lot quieter.

my question what can i do to make it less noisy? can i add any insulation or
am i just stuck with a noisy fan? i cant sleep with the fan running its too
noisy? any ideas or suggestions? no i do not want to buy a new furnace.

When was last time any cleaning was done????
Probably have a 35000Btu furnace

Can NOT insulate around furnace casing ---block return airflow

What kind of noise is it making?
Is it just the roar of the fan?
Is it squealing?
Is it rattling?
They run fast, so the roar of the fan is a bit loud.
Rattles or squealing could be loose mounting or bad bearings.
The motor is replaceable.

If you can video it, with sound, and upload, might help diagnose!

Squealing bearings equal short time (2-4 months) before motor locks up! This usually happens about 2AM on a very cold night! Ask me how I know this?! I have personally replaced the fan motors in BOTH of my Atwood Heaters. Rook

yes i think i have a 35000 furnace. i did vacuum out the cold air return under the fridge
and around the blower motor; it just seems noisy in the middle of the night when i m
trying to sleep and io hear the fan kicking on and off. probably nothing i can do.
i should be grateful that it works well and gives me heat. its just old school technology
i guess compared to the new motorhomes furnace that seem quieter?? thanks

I have a Pacifica and the berm furnace fan is noisy. I am planning to take the cover off and try to shoot some lithium grease into the bushings, but have not had time to get to it. Only a problem when it is cold at night. In Florida now, but that will change soon.

Noisy

I replaced both of mine due to bearing squeal

Watch YouTube videos and use penetrating oil on the combustion side blower shaft. The large one comes right off but the other side requires much twisting back and forth with no room for persuasion.
