Backup Cam removal

I'm in the process of the removal of the backup cam in my 2006 Dolphin LX 6342. I have it all loose and assume it has to come out the front of dash but it is kind of a tight fit. Looking for any tips that might make it easier.

No I gave up for now will wait until we get to AZ and park for the winter. It looks like the front of the dash may have to be removed. It does work most of the time. No one really replied so it looks like of all the people that have looked I'm the only one with a camera problem in that year.

JC took ours out and replaced it. I will ask him how it came out and let you know.

If you remove the dog house you can get under the dash and remove the bolts that are holding it in. Once disconnected it comes out the front of the dash.

I was able to loosen the mounting screws from underneath the dash. I then removed it by pulling in back from the front and removed it from under the dash. Had to remove a surround sound sub-woofer first.

I did have the monitor loose and about half way out of the front of dash but to tight to complete removal without breaking dash. I also tried to remove from back but without removal of front of dash there is no room.

What are you going to replace it with? Been thinking of replacing my backup camera system but it is still working.

RVcam has a direct replacement for the Weldex model that has been discontinued. It uses the same cables back to the camera and fits the dash for exact replacement. This is why I was trying to remove monitor and send it to rvcam and have it tested to be sure it is the monitor
