Batteries not charging

Running the engine or generator does not seem to be charging any of the batteries. Multi-meter check of the batteries read 12 volts on the chassis or coach batteries before starting engine or generator. Readings are the same with engine or generator running. Meter in the MH showed both batteries at 11.9 volts. Put charger on chassis battery for a couple of hours, chassis and coach batteries reading 12.3 volts. Looking for suggestions as to what I should check next.

Put VOM or DVM across batteries, should be 13.8 to 14.5 volts with engine running. If not, then bad alternator or voltage regulator (possible bad battery).....regulator usually part of the alternator. Just replaced Alternator in my car....$275. Rook

Weather allowed me to do some checking today. Showed a increase on battery monitor with genny running but not with engine running. Will do alternator check some other day. Thanks for advice.
