Battery Disconnect Relay

A bit ago,I had a tech in to work on the furnace and had no power,so he figgered out that the disconnect system was out and wired a jumper so we had power. I am thinking that it may have been the relay, but don't know where it is. I'm taking it in for servicing the air dryer tomorrow and at $85 an hour for labor,I think that I'll either have them replace the relay or wire in a new battery disconnect like we have on our school buses.

The coach battery disconnect relay is not real easy to get to.....it's mounted on the BACKSIDE of the 12 VDC distribution circuit board, it cannot be seen from the front! It's back there with the 12 VDC "Boost" relay and the 150 amp DC circuit breaker. It connects between JP3 and JP2 on the circuit board. Your RV Tech probably put a short across JP3 to JP2. .....see the schematic. Rook

I'll have to check where the jumper goes. I do remember that it is a large blue wire. I just may have them check both the disconnect relay and the boost relay as I don't think that one is working either. When I try to start the gennie and it turns slow,I hit the boost switch and it doesn't seem to make a difference. I intensly dislike working with electricity anyway 'cuz it's so d**mfrustrating.
Still trying to find someone with an LTC that can tell me the wiring order for the switch for the door step cover slide.

OOppss, that's a large red wire. The new place I'm taking it said they can install a rotary type switch in the rear power compartment for me and that'll bypass the front switch and the relay both. These guys are great with several suggestions about things that they saw while doing my air dryer that I need to do soon. Oh, and they only charge $85 an hour and work the whole time. They finished the dryer in 45 minutes and then tightened several bolts on the exhaust system that had just been replaced and checked out the underside in the rear to finish out the hour.
