Battery Disconnect Switch

Just inside the entry door above the steps on my 1994 National Sea Breeze is a switch that says Disconnect. It has a rocker switch with "Use" at the bottom and "Store" at the top. What is the correct positions to use when A. Driving on highway,
B. RV in use at a campground plugged into shorepower.
C. RV being stored for periods of several days or longer.

thanks for all your help.

When you turn the switch off you're killing power to most of the RV that uses 12vdc for power including lights - even when connected to shore power. There's still a few things that will draw power even when the switch is turned off. I store my motorhome at my house and I keep my switch on all the time - driving, camping and stored at home. I also have power to the motorhome all year long.

The only reason to turn the switch to 'Stow' would be when you're leaving the RV parked for a long period of time with no 120 v shore power to keep the batteries charged. 'Use' means 'On' and 'Stow' means 'Off.'

As jimnkee mentioned, it only disconnects the house batteries for most functions. The batteries could still be hooked up to gas detectors, clock or radio memory, etc. Over time with no power, the batteries could still discharge. You'd need a second switch and relay to disconnect the chassis batteries, they might also be discharged over time by radio memory, ECU, remotes, etc.

I agree with the other post and also if you replace anything that has 12v power AC thermostat or control box you need to turn it off for the repairs.

I have a 98 Sea View.
I've been turning my switch to OFF when stopped for longer than an hour because the truck battery will drain.
As an experiment, I left it on for two weeks. Completely dead- had to use the coach batteries to start and took a while to charge them up

Will not do that again

Fortunately my solar panels keep the coach batteries in good shape

By truck battery do you mean the one that starts the engine? How fast is your chassis battery draining? Perhaps you have a relay staying closed and causing a load? The engine ECU and your radio are known connections, do you also have a remote lock/security system? Also, if you have solar cells, the presence of a charging current could also be tied in to the chassis batteries.

That switch should only control the house batteries and have nothing to do with the starting battery.
