Battery question

I have a 2002 National Sea Breeze. We use it pretty often and I went out to the shop to find no lights or power in the motor home. I checked and it was plugged in, power in the breaker box in the coach but no lights or no fridge. I continued to check and find a dead battery on the RV side. My engine battery was just fine.

I purchased new 12v battery last season but it will not hold a charge now. Is it possible that the cold just killed my battery or do I have a larger issue with my invert not charging. I checked the levels on my battery water and they are fine. I am wondering if I have a short?

Any thoughts?

A lot of digital chargers won't charge a battery good when it's too low. Try a good manual charger on it. You might have a small draw that killed the battery.

Ditto to what Airv said. Most likely is your Inverter/charger has gone Kaput! But maybe not.... easy to verify..... put an external battery charger on your house battery and see if it holds a charge. A good basic battery charger is a "must have tool" for an RV owner. You will find a use for it often while traveling. Rook

Did you check your charger/inverter control panel to see if the charger is on?

That is the only next step I can think of, to check the invert. I will take a meter and check it out. Is that the only way to check the invert to see if its working?

What kind of charger/inverter do you have?

I feel stupid now that I found the problem but here goes.

I checked the shore power - good
I checked the breakers - good
I checked the battery - good
I checked the power outlet to the inverter - not good
I checked the inverter by plugging it in to a shore line - good

I was convinced that I had a bad wire maybe do to a mouse? I was about ready to start tearing the coach apart to run a new wire to the inverter and my dad asked if I had any GFI outlets (here it comes). I do I have one in the front and one in the back of the coach. The front one tripped. So I reset it and everything is just fine. I have trouble shot this thing for the last four weekends and I have found out that the GFI outlets feed the other outlets in the coach.
