Clunky noise in '99 TropiCal

I have a 36ft 1999 tropical that when I turn hard to the left when going slow it makes a popping noise that seems to becoming from somewhere in the front end. I told my RV guy and he said he could remember some tech info on that problem and had something to do with the way the dash was attached but couldn’t find any of that old info. Does anyone have the same problem? And what’s the fix?

Check for a ball joint going bad and if you have a solid front axle check the tie rod ends.

Our 2000 Tropical on an F53 chassis with104K miles does not have any popping noises on hard left or right turns. Before going full time I checked the King Pins, Stabilyzer links, Tie rod ends and Drag link. I would advise that you have the front end parts as well as the Wheel bearings and Front brakes checked if not inspected recently

I had pretty much the same problem but it happened when I went over bumps. I had my mechanic look at it and he said that the dashboard is fastened on to the sides of the motorhome with screws whose holes rounded out over the years, allowing the dash to bang up and down. It actually felt like something was loose in the front end but that was not the case. The fix was to put in a couple of brackets attached to the frame that then secured the dash to it rather than the side walls. Worked great. No more noise.
