Coax routing from amp wall plate to antenna 2007 Dolphin

I have troubleshot my reception problem to the coax in the coach by running a separate coax from the antenna to the back of the amp plate and it is working wonderfully. In an attempt to replace the coax between the antenna and wall plate I removed the access panel in the right side storage cabinet and was able to reach the coax and followed it with my hands and I expected it to run up to the antenna but ney ney it runs up and through the overhead across towards the left side of the coach. so I pulled a little of the rg6 from the roof up cut it off and terminated it. Still poor reception. Does anyone have any idea why the coax runs across the top and how can I just run a new cable straight to the antenna?
Thanks a bunch!!

Angry Replacing old Wingard

I to am looking for the Coax path through to roof. Appears to head to the wrong side of the coach. I have the 2005 5342 Model, Dolphin. W22 Chassis. So I guess I will have to clip the old coax and run some new one. Never easy!!!!!!!!

I had a reception problem with my antenna in the past. I found the problem to be in the connection just under the antenna mounting plate on the roof. There is a butt connector just under the plate and mine have become very corroded through the years. In fact, the copper stem was gone. I cut the coax and installed a new female connector on the coax going inside the coach. I have the batwing antenna and it had RG59 coax on it. I also replaced that with RG6. Pulling the batwing plate from the roof is not a hard task.

Bill, are you talking about the connector under the antenna mounting plate?

Yes the connector under the mounting plate was full of rust and the center conductor was gone
