Compartment Door gas spring

One of the Compartment Door gas springs for the basement compartments has broken at the tips where they attach to the holders. The gas spring (strut) does not have a brand or model #. It's about 20" long extended, with about an 8" stroke. The ends are removable so if I could find those, I could just replace them (less $$).

Anyone know who may have his stuff?

Thanks,

John

Funny you should ask. I just replaced two of mine. Mine were SPD (see Larry's suggestion above). The part numbers on mine were GSNI530080. That has been replaced by GSNI230080. The shaft and housing on the replacement are thicker than the original. You can look it all up at www.spdhardware.com Give them a call. Mine arrived within a few days. I got them both for $49.86 including shipping.
