Condensation problems

I have a 2002 Dolphin. I have noticed the carpet wet on both driver and passenger floorboards. i thought it was rain at first. I resealed and put RV under a complete shelter. AC is on and its hot. Carpet got wet. They tell me it is condensation since there is no insulation in cowell or front top. I know I'm not the only one with this problem. is there a drain plug that is clogged. lease help Thanks

Not an uncommon problem in any vehicle with an A/C. In the bottom of the plenum, under the evaporator, is a drain that takes the condensation out and under the vehicle. This drain and hose gets plugged up by 'stuff' in the plenum or hose. Often if you look under the dash you can find the hose connecting to the drain. Pull the hose and use a wire to rotoroot the clog out of the drain or hose. If you don't you'll have water sloshing out onto the carpet when you turn a corner.

Not an idiot, just something you haven't learned. Look under the hood for a hose leading from the bottom of the plenum, if not outside, look under the dash at the big box that contains the fan, A/C evaporator, and heater core. You might be able to find the outlet underneath and poke a small wire up to dislodge whatever is clogging it.

Are you talking about the dash AC or roof AC?

I am sorry for the confussion. It is the roof air. What i have been told was the air in the top cowell is hot from sun and ino insulation making it worse then when it meets cold air generated from Roof air it builds up condensation just like a cold drink on a warm day. This then runs down and gets carpet wet. Thanks for the fast replys.

It is possible it is condensation in the front cap. However, it could be the condensation on the roof from the AC that finds an entry point and exit at the front cap. Also could be the AC pan drain holes are plugged and the condensation getting into the ceiling. Water will follow the easiest path to an exit point.

I considered that but i have the jacks tilting to the back so water runs off back. Also, I have no discoloration of roofing inside to indicate water. Its sounds cray but its driving me crazy.

You might try installing a small computer fan or small fan to circulate the conditioned to the front cap during high humidity times. They are available in 12 and 120 volt just need too find one that is quite.

If you think it could be condensation in the front cap, pull the ceiling vent that is closest to the front of the MH. On mine the vent tube that services all the ceiling vents just keeps running to the front and rear of the MH. I took paper bowls and cut them in half and placed them in the vent tube so it forced all the air out the last vent in line. Then sprayed foam behind the bowls to keep them in place did this to the front and rear of the MH
