Really showing how dumb I am now...so the Zantrex does not help keep the batteries charged? My RV is under cover and I no longer have a solar panel.

It does when you are plugged into shore power. When you are not and the inverter is on, it will supply a limited amount of power to a few dedicated receptacles usually TV's and maybe a refer. When you are plugged into shore power and the inverter is on it passes thru and is not dependent on the inverter.
