Corian counter top moving

I have an 02 8311 and it has a kitchen slide. The counter top and the back splashes are not connected any more . There was caulking originally put in to seal them together but when the slide goes in or out there Is so much movement that the back splashes and the countertops move away from each other. This is wigging me out. What is going on here.... besides something not good. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

The movement is evident from the gap between countertop and backsplash. The real question is, is the movement from the wall or the cabinet base the countertop is on? I'd observe carefully, maybe using masking tape to span gaps to see where the movement is happening. It might require bracing or refastening to strengthen the 'box' of the slide. It shouldn't be flexing that much and could cause leaks or failure at a very inconvenient time.

Zogman,
We had the same on our 2006 HR Scepter. Long countertop, very heavy. It was not attached to the wall well enough. They had to get under the top, lift with portable jacks and then reattached it really well to the wall. Next make sure they use the proper caulk, it's NOT grout, it must flex as the slider moves in and out. It's made by Corian.

Did you find anything funny yet?
Let me know when you do....

By the way.. Corian adhesive is a two part product that literally melts the joint surfaces as they bond. That is why it is usually impossible to find the joints in a properly assembled counter top.
