We recently purchased a 2005 National Dolphin LX 5342. As we were going over it, we found that where the awning supports are attached, the left side is attached above the gutter and the right side is attached below the gutter. Where is the proper attachment location? Also, we are having problems with the awning in that it will extend with no problem, but will not retract. Could these problems be related? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I don't know which awning you have. We have a 2007 Tropical and it has the Weather Pro on ours. If that high/low situation is factory it's probably OK. Hope someone will know here. The failure to return is a common thing on the Weather Pro. It has to do with the control that stops the motor when it id in fully or gets hot. When the resistance ramps up it shuts off until it cools. When ours first slows down we get the ladder out and spray every moving part with silicone spray. We are then good to go for quite a while. There may be a better lube. I have to check.

If that does not fix it then we make sure that the high wind retract is set correctly. Thy turning it off. DO a search on awning won't retract. It can be the motor.

Thank you for the information,I have checked the wiring and voltage. I think it might take a new motor.

These are notorious for needing motors. Do check the threads on this because many feel they have found an identical or equivalent motor for a third of the price online. Please let us know what happens so the next person can use the info.
