door shock cover

Man,if it's not one thing it's another. This last week the wind at the beach caught my door and popped the shock ball, rusted, off the plate it's fastened too on the step of the coach.I found one at my local dealer only because someone ordered one and then brought them back. What I need now is the plastic or fiberglass cover that goes over the step end of the shock as mine's all cracked and broken Where can I find one of these??

I was looking for one also, but never got a lead on one. So when I did my stairs in laminate I made one out of left over laminate. Also, I replaced the screws holding the ball bracket to the floor with nut and bolt with lock washers, got tired of the screws working loose. My new cover just lays over the shock.

Thanks..There is this older guy at the rv store I use and he's s'posed to know where you can get them.. It seems as if thee should be a normal item for motor homes.
Now,I've gotta get the new flatscreen installed before the DW gets back from Kauai.

If you haven't got one by the time I get to Quartzsite next month I'll check out The Gambler RV store and see if he has one. Word has it he bought a lot of Nationals inventory.

Try Colaw RV Parts & Salvage, talk to Duane Griffith (877) 548-2125 toll free. I was there in Sept. and they have at least two Tradewinds from 200, 2001. They had rear fire damage so if the covers are still on them they wouldn't be damaged.

They called me first thing this AM,bounced me out of bed at 7 AM,and said that he had a good one for $25. Probably more than it's worth, but how often do you find them,so it's on it's way..
Thanks guys...

Hey you do what you gotta!
Colaw charged me $45 for a Fridg handle. Just no place else to get it.
